The Creation of A Tool to Aid in Healthy Material Selection for Interior Designers

Sarah Rable

Sarah Rable is an interior designer who has focused her research on biophilic design and sustainability with the ultimate goal of creating healthy spaces for inhabitants. Her work aims to find a solution to harmful materials currently being used in interior environments. She is currently focusing her research specifically on the harmful effects of a very commonly used material in interiors, Polyvinyl Chloride. She believes that through education, designers can make informed decisions about the materials they’re specifying and as a result, create healthy spaces for all. Sarah aims to create a tool for designers that streamlines the interior finish selection process while educating on sustainability and safe materials.
