Sara Haroun is an avid Art Educator who has been working to teach students the power and influence that Art and Design have on the world. Her thesis is primarily focused on innovating the high school design curriculum through design thinking and teaching in a designerly manner. She has been working on curriculum which integrates 3D Printers, CAD software, Adobe programs, and skillful prototyping all in partnership with design thinking and human centered design. Her students learn creative confidence, divergent thinking and most importantly how to become innovators with a purpose in their chosen fields. The curriculum that is part of her thesis is meant to be shared with other educators and students to help them also integrate these 21st century skills and help build successful and positive futures for our youth. She hopes that by giving teachers and students tools and fun content to help bridge that gap of understanding the power of design thinking, that this will have a lasting and positive impact on the youth, encouraging them to design in a human centered manner.
