Amanda has dedicated her graduate work to service design, focusing mainly on disaster relief and recovery with sustained response and continued efforts. She aims to find a link between human factors, relief systems and disaster operations, while creating a digital environment to connect users through a smartphone or computer. This digital tool will create a large network of supporters to and those in need, blending aspects of social media with charitable donations and opportunities. She aims to cause a cultural shift in perception of disaster relief and recovery, while on a larger scale, she hopes this thesis project can become a call-to-action, campaigning for those who are affected by disasters in the United States.
