Yael graduated from the Drexel Architecture program with excellence in 2024. She brings a unique perspective to the profession, having transitioned into architecture from the medical field – She holds an MD and has practiced medicine for 10 years before pivoting to architecture. After spending years working closely with patients, she believes in a human-centered approach to architectural design.
Yael’s fields of interest are educational design, landscape-informed design and community-oriented design. She is passionate about architecture as a source of joy, kindness and empathy. She is ongoingly involved with volunteer projects through the Community Design Collaborative, where she serves as project support and lead.
Yael’s architectural work experience includes working as a designer in Philadelphia, including at Blackney Hayes (2022-2025) and Metcalfe (2026-). Yael has taught studio courses in Drexel’s Architecture Program since 2024 and is a proud educator, committed to fostering new ways of design thinking among students.
