Andrew Susskind is an independent television producer and director who has had an accomplished career, holding a variety of leadership and creative positions in nearly all aspects of primetime network television programming. 

As a producer, Andrew’s credits encompass long-form and series, comedy and drama, and include THEA, YES, MR. MOON, RITA HAYWORTH: THE LOVE GODDESS, DEAR LIAR, CASEY STENGEL, IAN McKELLEN ACTING SHAKESPEARE, and JFK: A ONE-MAN SHOW. 

Andrew also has directed episodes of the comedies KING OF QUEENS, TWO GUYS AND A GIRL, UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER, and THE HUGHLEYS. He also wrote the comedy pilot script FATHER & SONS. 

As an executive, Andrew was responsible for the development and productions of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, PARENTHOOD, 227, THE CHARMINGS, SWEET SURRENDER, MY TALK SHOW, TRIAL & ERROR, CONAGHER, and THE KAREN CARPENTER STORY. 

At Drexel, Andrew teaches “Producing for Television,” “The Art of TV Comedy,” “TV Studio Comedy & Drama,” “TV Series Editing,” and supervises production of the multiple award-winning student half-hour comedy, “Off Campus.” 

Prior to joining the Westphal faculty, Andrew taught at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Film and Television Department, Hunter College and Brooklyn College. He lectured for several years at Pepperdine Law School’s Entertainment Law Class, has been a guest lecturer at AFI, and taught a popular television comedy history and development class at UCLA Extension’s Entertainment Division. 

Andrew has also been active in a number of non-profit organizations, especially those centering on education. He served for nine years on the Board of Trustees—the last four as President—of The Center for Early Education, an independent elementary school in West Hollywood. 

He also served on the Los Angeles advisory board for Facing History and Ourselves, an educational organization dedicated to encouraging students to examine racism and prejudice, and on the advisory committee for the Imagen Awards, which recognize and honor positive portrayals of Hispanics and Hispanic culture in television and motion pictures. 

Mr. Susskind is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard College, where he concentrated in American Government and graduated with honors.
