Karin Kelly has been active in film and television for the past twenty years. For WYBE Television she produced the short film series Through the Lens, and serves as a juror for Philadelphia Stories. Karin has produced episodes of the television series Birthday, broadcast on Discovery Health and Perfect Proposal broadcast on The Learning Channel. An independent filmmaker, she has assistant-directed both television commercials and feature films and has written, produced and directed music videos, corporate projects and short films. Her latest short, Tough Call, is about to begin the festival circuit. She has served as a mentor and guest director for The Digi-Fest Southwest.
Karin wrote the book on film school -- literally -- as the co-author of Film School Confidential: The InsiderĂs Guide to Film Schools, now in its second edition. As a leading authority on film school she has written about the topic for Moviemaker Magazine and Entertainment Weekly.
Karin received the prestigious Princess Grace Foundation Grant and was awarded fellowships with both Warner Brothers and Paramount Pictures. She has worked as on numerous television shows, including Down Home, Space Rangers, Home Improvement, Thunder Alley, Buddies, In the House, and Soul Man.
