June He is an Assistant Professor of Product Design in Westphal College of Media Arts & Design at Drexel University. She is a multifaceted industrial designer and artist with industry experience on an international level. Her passion is to share design experience and creative methodologies with students and contribute to their growth. Her work studies issues at the intersections of nature, culture, and objects, covering a variety of media from design, art, writing, and storytelling. 


Since 2008, June has collaborated with brands such as Pagliuca Harvard Life Lab, Warby Parker, Kohler, Swarovski, GUESS, Henri Bendel, and more. She often leads design teams to travel and partner with international recourses across the globe. Her work has been showcased in the Swarovski Design Center in New York City, worn by celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Oprah Winfrey, Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete, and collected by organizations like Rockefeller Center. 


June’s research interests include sustainable design practices, empathic design methods, and a collaborative, cross-cultural design process with diverse participants. In graduate school, she used empathic modeling and participatory design method to help increase mobility for students with disabilities. 


June is enthusiastic about bringing creative thinking and artistic inquiry to diverse audiences. She was invited to speak and host a variety of workshops at institutions including New York public library, Queens Public Library, Brooklyn Public Library, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, Jiangnan University (China), and more. 


Originally from China, June holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Design from Jiangnan University, China, and a Master of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She obtained a Graduate Teaching Certificate for teaching undergraduate students in industrial design (UIUC).
