Prior to joining the Drexel Department of Performing Arts, LaShanetta Harris was an Administrative Coordinator at Rutgers University, New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. LaShanetta began her higher ed career as an Administrative Aide to the MSW (Master of Social Work) department at Chicago State University where she managed all aspects of the MSW program. Shortly after receiving her bachelor’s degree, she became an Academic Advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Chicago State University. After relocating to the east coast (New Jersey) she became an Academic Advisor and U-Life instructor in the Center for Academic Success at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ after which she transitioned to Rutgers University upon completing her master’s degree.

LaShanetta has recently become a new resident of the Philadelphia area along with her husband. She is the mother five adult children: three sons, one daughter and a bonus daughter. In her free time, she enjoys reading, shopping, singing in her church choir, praise dancing and working with the youth. LaShanetta received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Chicago State University in Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated cum laude, and she holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Governors State University in University Park, Illinois. She is also a member of Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society for Public Administration and Public Affairs.
