Ali is a architect licensed in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. Ali has over 25 years of practical experience in both Public and Commercial Sectors, completing projects in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. Key projects include a major post office renovation in the "cultural corridor" in West Philadelphia, a community arts center in Washington, D.C., a food distribution center in the Bronx, a Carwash in Maryland along with several restaurants and retail throughout the Northeast Corridor. Currently, Ali is managing a substantial renovation of an Infrastructure Act Funded Project for the one of 5 Mega projects to support the new Amtrak Fleet of trains in development. Committed to design and with a strong belief that Architecture resides in the tenuous balance between Art and Science, Ali has over 10 years of experience as a studio design professor at University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Lehigh University, and Drexel University. In addition to the schools he taught at, he has sat on crits at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture Planning and Preservation, Catholic University of America, Boston Architectural Center, and University of New Mexico. An avid artist and lover of drawing, Ali has exhibited and sold some of his paintings and drawings. During Covid, while living in Manhattan, Ali produced one drawing every day for 35 days to capture the life of the deadened city during lockdown while looking out of the window of his 14th floor apartment.
