Expansion of Presidential Proclamation on Restricting Entry into the United States
On December 16, President Trump signed a proclamation expanding visa and travel restrictions to 38 countries, as well as the Palestinian territories. This proclamation builds on the June 2025 proclamation restricting entry to nationals of 19 countries. The partial ban on Turkmenistan has been lifted. Regardless of whether a country is subject to full or partial restrictions, F and J visas are suspended for both groups. The proclamation is effective January 1, 2026.
