Novelution IRB Module: 30-Day Update & Continued Support
Dear Drexel Research Community,
It has been one month since the IRB Module in Novelution launched, and we want to thank everyone who has used the system, attended office hours, submitted questions, and shared feedback during our first month.
Your experiences are helping us identify opportunities to improve guidance, strengthen training resources, and make the transition to Novelution as smooth as possible.
30 Days at a Glance
Since launch:
- 366 distinct users have accessed Novelution
- 65 IRB submissions and records have been initiated or processed
- 61 support requests have been resolved
- 53 different individual principal investigators have created records in Novelution
- 30 various departments have created new Novelution records
- 18 researchers and staff have participated in office hours and support sessions
- 400 unique visitors have accessed the Novelution Hub, generating approximately 7,000 total visits
What We’ve Learned
During the first month, we’ve closely monitored questions received through support tickets, office hours, and direct feedback. Some of the most common topics have included:
- Establishing and working with shell records
- Linking CITI training records with Novelution
- Navigating IRB submissions and workflows
- Understanding where to find specific functions and information within Novelution
Based on your feedback, we have continued to update FAQs, training materials, and other guidance available through the Novelution Hub.
Continued Support
Although the initial launch period is complete, ongoing support and resources remain available.
Over the coming months, we will:
- Offer Novelution office hours and targeted support sessions: View the upcoming schedule
- Monitor support requests and common questions
- Update FAQs and step-by-step guidance based on user needs
- Develop additional training resources where we identify recurring questions
- Work with HRPP and the Novelution team to address system and workflow issues

What’s Next
The IRB Module represents the first phase of Drexel’s broader Novelution implementation. The Sponsored Programs Module is currently in testing, with launch timing dependent on successful completion of testing and readiness activities. Additional information and training opportunities will be shared as plans are finalized.
