Novelution IRB Module: Week One Highlights

It's been one week since the IRB Module in Novelution went live, and we'd like to thank the Drexel research community for your partnership and support throughout the transition.

We also want to recognize the many individuals across the University who contributed to the implementation, from system configuration and testing to training, communications, and launch support. Your time, expertise, and feedback have been instrumental in reaching this important milestone.

Week One at a Glance

Since launch, we've seen strong engagement with Novelution and the resources available to support the research community:

  • 41 PIs submitted:
    • 24 new IRB protocols
    • 31 IRB shell records
  • 10 researchers and staff have participated in launch week office hours
  • 367 unique visits and over 2,000 total visits to the Novelution Hub
  • 0 major system issues identified

What We're Hearing

We appreciate everyone who has shared questions and feedback during our first week. The most common questions during launch week focused on establishing shell records and ensuring CITI accounts are properly linked to Novelution. We've updated our training guidance and FAQs to address these topics.

The Novelution Implementation and HRPP teams are using these questions and experiences to identify opportunities to clarify guidance, enhance training resources, and continue improving the user experience.

As a reminder, Novelution and its supporting resources will continue to evolve. We encourage you to keep sharing your questions and suggestions with us.

Continued Support

Although launch week is behind us, we’re still here to help. Over the coming weeks, we will continue offering Novelution office hours, updating FAQs and materials based on the questions we receive, and monitoring support requests to identify areas where additional guidance may be helpful.

The Novelution Hub remains your central resource for:

  • Training materials and step-by-step guides
  • FAQs and transition guidance
  • Webinar recordings and presentation slides
  • Implementation updates
  • Support information

What's Next for Novelution?

The IRB Module is the first step in Drexel's broader Novelution implementation. Next, we're preparing for the launch of the Sponsored Research Module, currently anticipated for late fall.

Additional information, training opportunities, and resources will be shared as we approach the next phase of the rollout.

Thank you again for your patience and collaboration throughout the IRB Module launch. Your participation and input will continue to help us strengthen Novelution as we move forward!

Best,

Novelution Implementation Project Team
