Offices Merge to Create the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation
This announcement was sent to faculty and staff by the Provost on September 2, 2022.
Dear Colleagues,
A centralized, integrated approach to data collection, analysis and sharing is central to many strategic efforts including the University’s accreditation, enrollment and recruitment efforts, continual improvement of our academic programs, enhanced diversity and inclusion and many more. Given this, I am pleased to announce that two units in the Provost’s Office will be joined as the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation. Under the leadership of Vice Provost Sujoy Das, the new office will combine the functions of the former Office of Institutional Research and Office of Assessment and Accreditation to create a one-stop shop for data gathering and support for the University at large.
The two offices already collaborate on many strategic projects, including the recent Middle States Commission on Higher Education review that culminated in a reaffirmation of Drexel’s accreditation until 2030. The integration into the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation will streamline processes for enhanced efficiency and alignment, leading to better support for the University community. In the coming months, responsibilities will be assessed as part of the integration. Faculty and professional staff are invited to contact irae_requests@drexel.edu for data needs related to learning assessment, accreditation, institutional benchmarking, campus surveys, compliance reporting and more.
Sincerely,
Paul E. Jensen
