Academic Reminders for Fall Quarter (Faculty)
Welcome to the fall quarter! The following are some key reminders to help you navigate the term.
Academic Calendar
The Academic Quarter calendar can be viewed on the Provost’s Office website. The following are a few key dates:
- Wednesday, September 21: Convocation
- Sunday, September 25: Course Add/Drop Deadline via DrexelOne* (11:59 p.m.)
- Monday October 10: Indigenous Peoples' Day (University Holiday)
- Monday, October 17: Last Day to Submit Application for Degree
- Friday, November 4: Course Withdrawal Deadline* (with Academic Advisor Assistance)
- Tuesday, November 22: Thanksgiving Holiday begins at close of classes - 10 p.m.
- Wednesday, November 23: Administrative Offices Open
- November 24 - 25: Administrative Offices Closed
- Saturday, December 3: Classes End*
- Monday, December 5: Term Examinations Begin
- Saturday, December 10: Term Examinations End

Academic Policies
Academic Policies may be found on the Provost’s Office website. We call your attention to the following policies that may be helpful for promoting student academic success.
- Absence from Class
- Academic Integrity: Drexel University expects all members of its community to uphold the highest values of academic integrity.
- Academic Standing for Undergraduates and Graduate Students
- Course Add/Drop: The add/drop period extends through the first week of the quarter.
- Course Repeat for Undergraduates and Course Repeat for Graduate Students
- Course Withdrawal: The withdrawal period begins the second week of the quarter and ends on Friday, November 4 (full term).
- Leave of Absence
Accessing Newspapers Through Drexel Libraries
Through the Drexel Libraries, Drexel subscribes to online versions of many newspapers, including the Chronicle of Higher Education, New York Times, Washington Post, Philadelphia Business Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer and more. Visit the linked page to access newspaper links that prompt Drexel authentication to ensure that anyone with a Drexel login can access the newspaper content.
Faculty Advancement Resources
- Faculty Handbook: A living document providing useful policy information pertinent to University governance, teaching and academic policies, and faculty lifecycle processes.
- National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD): An independent professional development, training, and mentoring community for faculty members, postdocs, and graduate students. Drexel faculty can access free membership to NCFDD.

- Teaching and Learning Center: The TLC provides resources, workshops and one-on-one pedagogical support to Drexel University’s faculty and teaching assistants.
- Drexel Learning Alliance: A network of offices on campus and online that support students' academic success including tutoring.
- Center for Learning and Academic Success Services (CLASS): Supports Drexel University students' efforts to achieve their academic goals through a variety of services, including Academic Coaching, Tutoring, Teaching GSTD 100: Strategies for Academic Success, Workshops and Events.
Security and Safety on Campus
The Department of Public Safety is committed to maintaining a safe campus environment and the highest standards of quality in promoting a safe educational environment.
