Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the fall term, and welcome back to all those who returned to campus this week! It is an exciting time at Drexel, as our spaces once again fill with the potential of a new academic year and the friends and colleagues whom we’ve missed during these many months away.

As we welcome new Dragons to our Drexel community, I also recognize that this year is new to all of us. The world has changed, and we have changed, since we last came together in person. Drexel has always been a place that attracts adaptable, resilient and forward-thinking individuals, and those qualities have truly been put to the test over the past 18 months. I sincerely thank you for your perseverance and dedication to Drexel and our students during this difficult period. This academic year, we have an opportunity to use what we’ve learned to become a stronger institution, and I look forward to doing that work together.

I hope to see everyone at Drexel’s Convocation ceremony on Wednesday, October 6 to officially kick off the new year. With the theme of “Driving Change Through Innovation and Collaboration,” the event’s keynote addresses will speak to this pivotal moment we find ourselves in as a University and global society. I hope you will join us on the Korman Quad or via livestream beginning at 10 a.m. A formal invitation will follow next week.

Best wishes to all for a productive and inspiring start to the fall term.

Sincerely,

Paul E. Jensen
