American Institute for Maghrib Studies
The American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS) program offers grants to US scholars and graduate students interested in conducting research on North African topics in Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco, or Tunisia. AIMS sponsors three Overseas Research Centers in Oran, Tunis, and Tangier to support AIMS scholars. AIMS only funds primary research conducted in the Maghrib.
Short-term grants (one to three months) and long-term grants (over three months) are available. Applicants must be members of AIMS at the time of application.
