Community

The Honors Program community is comprised of active and curious undergraduate learners who represent nearly every major and discipline at Drexel University.

Honors Living Learning Community in Bentley Hall

The Honors Living Learning Community is housed in Bentley Hall. Here, Honors students benefit from living with other engaged and academically-focused students from all different majors and colleges. Bentley Hall offers a wide variety of collaboration spaces where students may meet to study, converse, and create long lasting bonds with their first-year cohort. The Honors Living Learning Community is also diverse in nature, as students have the opportunity to meet peers from other majors and participate together in events and programs.

In addition to the benefit of creating a tight knit, collaborative community, the Honors Living Learning Community also initiates study break events, information sessions, trivia, and coffee catchups. Here, students participate in events that explore a variety of topics and discussions that promote academic, career, and social development to help them prepare for their future at Drexel and beyond.

Students in this community also have the unique opportunity of having an Honors Program advisor located in Bentley Hall. Advising appointments are available Monday-Friday, where students can discuss their Honors Program plan of study in conjunction with their major degree requirements.

For dates and deadlines to apply for the Honors Living Learning Community, please visit the Housing website for more details. After admittance into the Honors Program, you will have the option of applying to the Honors Living Learning Community via your housing application.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Honors Program students are not required to live in the Honors Residence Hall. However, there are many perks and benefits for students who do (e.g. information sessions, workshops, events, etc).
Honors Program students who have selected the Honors LLC over their major LLC have said that they were able to get the “best of both worlds.” They could live with and befriend other Honors students, but also form study groups with other Honors students who were in the same major and classes.
Students are required to first submit their housing deposit before they are able to access their housing application and roommate/room selection sites. If you have already submitted your deposit and are still having problems with accessing the University Housing website and forms, please contact Housing & Residence Life directly at housing@drexel.edu.

Ticket Tuesdays

The Honors Program encourages students to explore cultural events in the Philadelphia community with our Ticket Tuesday lottery. The lottery offers free tickets to local events and activities, including musicals, orchestral performances, dance shows, sporting events, museums, and more. The Ticket Tuesday lottery signup is emailed to Honors Program students on the second Tuesday of each term.

Leadership

Honors Program students are not only academically talented and motivated but also have the ambition and drive to become active leaders within the Honors Program. Honors Program Leaders contribute to the Honors Program Community and play an important role for Honors programming.

Honors Mentors

An Honors Mentor is an upperclassmen student who is interested in facilitating meaningful activities and events to a group of approximately 15-20 Honors Program first-year students. An Honors Mentor serves as a confidant and resource for their mentees and provides a safe space for their cohort to support one another throughout their first year at Drexel. Mentors act as a representative of the Honors Program and answer any questions or concerns their mentees might have, as well as being available via phone and email throughout the duration of their mentees’ first year.

During the year, Mentors are asked to plan three programs per term that allow their mentees to become acclimated to Drexel, the city of Philadelphia and their first-year experience.

Interested in applying? Applications are available in June for upperclassmen students in good standing with the Honors Program.
