Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry

The Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry provides customizable, adaptive, and interdisciplinary education for Drexel students.

The challenges and opportunities of our rapidly evolving, globalized world require people who can think and make connections across fields, communicate and collaborate effectively with others from different backgrounds, and apply tools, techniques, and ideas from one context to another. To help prepare students for that world, the Center for Interdisciplinary Inquiry (CII) offers two primary opportunities: the Custom-Designed Major and the Symposium.

The Bachelor of Science in the Custom-Designed Major (CSDN) empowers students to pursue individualized courses of study at Drexel University not readily available through an existing major or a combination of existing majors and minors. CSDN is designed for highly motivated students whose interdisciplinary curiosity and career ambitions cannot be satisfied by a traditional major.

Symposium 25-26: monsters. Showing images of many different monsters across different genres, including Frankenstein, pikachu, an angler fish

The Symposium is an interdisciplinary course series sponsored by the Pennoni Honors College and open to all students at Drexel. It brings together faculty from different disciplines to co-teach courses as part of a yearly theme such as monsters, aging, and water.
