Tooth Toolkit

As my Civic Engagement Leadership Certificate (CELP) project, I developed the dental component of 100 care kits distributed during the Lindy Center's Dr. King Day of Service Kit Packing event in partnership with the U.S. Dream Academy. The project addressed the need for greater access to basic oral health supplies and education for families in the Philadelphia community. Through this initiative, I strengthened my skills in project planning, collaboration, and community engagement while reinforcing my commitment to advancing health equity. Working alongside mentors and community members - including Smile Team, the Lindy Center, the U.S. Dream Academy, Zack Levy-Dyer, and Rebecca LeFevre - allowed me to turn an idea into a meaningful community service effort. This project has reinforced my commitment to advancing oral health equity and inspired me to continue contributing to community-based initiatives that improve access to preventive dental care in a way that extends beyond the clinic and into the communities I hope to serve.
