Public Interest Job Fairs
Equal Justice Works Public Service Career Fair and Conference
The Equal Justice Works Public Service Career Fair and Conference is the largest public interest law career fair in the country. The fair is held annually in late October in Arlington, Va.
This fair is primarily for second- and third-year law students interested in public interest law. According to NALP guidelines, first-year law students are not allowed to participate in one-on-one interviews with employers. 1L students may attend the fair and participate in the Table Talk and career development sessions. Table Talk sessions provide students an opportunity to ask questions of employers and learn about their programs and hiring needs.
Our membership in Equal Justice Works allows our students to receive information and participate in the Career Fair. Students are required to register through individual registration forms. For more information, including registration and deadlines, click here.
Philadelphia Public Interest/Public Service (“PIPS”) Career Fair
The Consortium of Greater Philadelphia Area Law Schools (GPALS) and the Public Interest Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association sponsor the Public Interest/Public Service Career Fair (PIPS) each February. Regional and national public interest organizations and government agencies attend this event to individually interview students interested in summer and full-time employment and volunteer opportunities in the public sector. Potential employers also hold information sessions on their programs and public interest career development. First-year law students may participate in all aspects of this fair.
Because space is limited, students wishing to attend must pre-register for the PIPS Career Fair during November. Applying early improves the chances of being granted an interview with a requested employer. Contact the Career Strategies Office for more information.
