Professor Pam Saunders Discusses Whether Election Will Affect High Court's Future on American Law Journal

November 01, 2012

The presidential election could have a huge and lasting impact on the U.S. Supreme Court, Professor Pammela Quinn Saunders said on the American Law Journal, which CNN affiliate WFMZ-TV aired on Oct. 28 and Nov. 4.

With the more liberal justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer, reaching ages 79 and 74 respectively, a win by GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney could prompt a major swing in the court’s ideological composition, Saunders said.

“You could really solidify a conservative majority,” Saunders said. “That would have an impact for decades to come.”

Appearing with Saunders on the panel were attorney Howard Bashman, National Law Journal reporter Tony Mauro and Villanova University Law School Professor Tuan Samahon.
