Michelle Streifthau-Livizos, a 3L, will receive the Alford Excellence Award by the Multicultural Judges & Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association.
The award was created to honor the first African-American female judge in Delaware, Judge Haile L. Alford, who was appointed in 1992. Carrying a $3,000 scholarship, the award recognizes academic excellence in law students who intend to practice in Delaware. It will be conferred on May 16.
Streifthau-Livizos, who is a lead editor of the Drexel Law Review, won several writing competitions during her tenure as a law student.
