Michelle Streifthau-Livizos, a 3L, won the Delaware Bar Foundation’s Bruce M. Stargatt Legal Ethics Writing Competition.

Streifthau-Livizos won for her paper, “Can a Judge and a Lawyer Be Friends?”

Students and 2017 graduates of any ABA accredited law school were eligible to submit scholarly papers involving ethical issues in the practice of law to the competition.

Streifthau-Livizos is invited to receive her $3,000 prize at the Delaware State Bar Association’s annual seminar on Oct. 13.  Her article will be published in Delaware Lawyer magazine.

This is the 3L’s second award for a writing competition. In July, she won the top prize from the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel in its annual writing competition for her essay, “Protecting the Loyal Hardworker: The Need for a Fair Analysis of Venue Clauses in ERISA Plans.”

She is a lead editor for the Drexel Law Review.
