Professor Karl Okamoto taught a week-long “boot camp” for transactional lawyering skills to students at Renmin Law School in Beijing, China in early August.

Renmin is one of the most respected law schools in China. As part of the boot camp, Okamoto led a delegation of students to visit the Beijing office of Shearman & Sterling LLP and the headquarters of JunHe LLP, China’s leading commercial law firm. Okamoto also met with partners from several other law firms.

In partnership with Renmin Professor Dong Jiang, Okamoto is planning to offer a joint course for both Chinese and American law students in cross-border transactions next year.

Okamoto is the director of the Business and Entrepreneurship Law program and the founder of LawMeets, the premier competition for students interested in practicing transactional law.
