Moot Court Board President Melissa Green took the second-place oralist honors in the Mid-Atlantic Super-Region the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition that concluded on Feb. 24 in Washington.
Green, far right, and teammates Joe McGinley, Barkha Patel and Rod Fancher completed the first round of competition in second place out of 24 teams and with a 4-0 record, only to be defeated by the University of Virginia in the quarter-finals.
This is the second consecutive year of success for the Moot Court Board. In 2012, a team that included Green and Patel won the Mid-Atlantic Jessup Super-Region and advanced to the International Rounds. Green was named the second-place oralist in the region in 2012 as well.
“I think our result is a reflection on the strength of our teamwork," Green said, "and I’m so lucky to have worked with advocates like Barkha and Joe and Rod.”
Professor Pammela Quinn Saunders, who is not pictured above, coached the team both years.
