In his role as president of the American Psychological Association (APA), Professor Emeritus Donald Bersoff will be presenting "Protecting Victims of Violent Patients While Protecting Confidentiality," at the University of Alabama's Michael Dinoff Memorial Lecture on April 19.
Bersoff who recently took the helm at the APA, is a a nationally known leader in mental health law who has published dozens of books, chapters and articles on legal and ethical issues in mental health, developmental disabilities and education. In his lecture, Bersoff will discuss the balance between maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring the safety of victims of violent patients.
