Professor Rose Corrigan Discusses Rape Law Reform at Syracuse University
September 21, 2012
Professor Rose Corrigan gave a talk as part of the Sawyer Law and Politics Program at Syracuse University’s Campbell Public Affairs Institute on Sept. 21.
Corrigan discussed the ways that policy initiatives like sexual assault nurse examiner programs, emergency contraception for rape victims and sex-offender registration laws reflect the interests of the criminal justice community but lack a feminist perspective on sexual violence.
Focusing her research on the intersection of social movements, feminist theory and public policy, Corrigan holds a joint appointment with the law school and the Drexel College of Arts & Sciences, where she directs the Women’s Studies Program.
