Professor Robert Field joined a panel of health care industry experts to discuss the Affordable Care Act at a Philadelphia Business Journal health care reform event at the Union League on Dec. 5.
The panel discussion, which was moderated by John George, a senior reporter on health care at the Journal, featured Field; Joseph M. DiBella, the managing director and executive vice president of Conner Strong & Buckelew; Joanne Corte Grossi, a regional director at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; R. Scott Post, the vice president of corporate and association affairs at Independence Blue Cross; and Curt Schroder, a regional executive of Delaware Valley Healthcare Council.
Field discussed what healthcare reforms may mean for businesses. "Employers should be prepared for some disruption and uncertainty,” Field said. He also added that this kind of uncertainty is not uncommon, Medicare, for instance, experienced, but eventually resolved, its initial difficulties.
Field is a nationally recognized expert on health care policy and health law. He recently moderated a panel with other experts in the field of public health on the post-election fate of the affordable care act.
