Professor Robert Field spoke at the Center for Health Law Studies and The Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law & Policy 24th Annual Health Law Symposium this past Friday, March 30.
For this year’s symposium, titled “Drugs & Money,” Field joined a panel of experts in the health law field including Kathleen M. Boozang, JD, LLM, Vice Provost and Professor of Law, Seton Hall School of Law; Kevin Outterson, JD, LLM, Associate Professor of Law, Associate Professor of Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights Boston University School of Law; Marc A. Rodwin, MA, JD, PhD, Professor of Law, Suffolk University Law School; and, Jeremy Sugarman, MD, MPH, Harvey M. Meyerhoff Professor of Bioethics and Medicine, Deputy Director for Medicine, Berman Institute of Bioethics, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Professor Field is a nationally recognized expert on health policy and public health law whose research focuses on ethical issues in managed care, public policy and legal facets of health care reform and genetic screening. Field is the author of "Health Care Regulation in America: Complexity, Confrontation and Compromise," a comprehensive guide to the government's role in regulating health care in the United States published by Oxford University Press.
