Nationally known solo practice expert and blogger Carolyn Elefant identified several law school alumni who are going it alone and creating a promising model for the profession’s future.
Based on her participation in a panel discussion last month with law school alumni who have become solo practitioners, Elefant said in a blog post on April 6 that clouds over the job market do not obscure a host of possibilities.
Elefant praised Class of 2010 member Leo Mulvihill and 2009 members Andrew Cole, Michele Grant and Mike Lee for setting off on diverse and inspiring pathways in solo practice.
Praising their collegiality, determination and creativity, Elefant said the young attorneys are helping to prove that a weak job market has created new opportunities.
“The future of the law that I saw is one that is blindingly bright; full of promise and opportunity for lawyers to make a difference, to serve clients and expand meaningful access to justice in a way that has never before been available ,” Elefant wrote.
