Professor Norman Stein was quoted in “The Billion-Dollar Bet: Which Pension Reform Measure Will Pass and Survive Legal Challenge,” the cover story in the Aug. 31 edition of SF Weekly magazine.

The article explores the challenges and legal precedents that have stymied efforts to reform San Francisco’s cash-strapped municipal pension plan. Stein predicted that prior court rulings will have little impact, noting: “You have a very different Supreme Court than you had in California in 1978 … Right now, the law is probably in flux.”
