The law school's chapter of Law Students for Reproductive Justice was named Featured Chapter by its parent organization, in recognition of its ambitious programming this year.

Drexel LSRJ provided a judicial bypass training session presented by the Philadelphia Public Defender's office and co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania’s Reproductive Rights Law Project.

The organization, led by 3Ls Aishling Reilly and Ellie Austin, also was involved with escort training for the Philadelphia Women's Center.

Recent events included a panel discussion on abortion clinic intimidation and harassment of providers, and an evening with Kathryn Kolbert, the attorney who represented Planned Parenthood in a landmark case that went before the U.S. Supreme Court.

"LSRJ has provided me the opportunity to round out my law school experience in a way that transcends the classroom. It’s allowed me to facilitate dialogue about important reproductive rights issues that cannot always be part of a classroom discussion," said co-president Aishling Reilly.

The group is developing even more volunteer opportunities in the future, such as raising funds for the Women’s Medical Fund.
