  • Designing and distributing weekly communications and reminders to Mentors and Mentees
  • Creating and Reviewing surveys to track program members satisfaction each term

Why I Work at Ascent
I joined Ascent because of my familiarity with the kind and passionate Leadership Team and to pursue my understanding of how to support underrepresented populations. I am happy to say that I have learned so much about leadership and mentorship through being part of Ascent and it inspired me to do more once I graduate.

More About Me
I am a second-year sociology major with a minor in medical sociology. I was born in Quito, Ecuador and immigrated to the United States when I was four. My immigrant background made me heavily interested in understanding systems of inequity and working to create institutional change by distributing resources to historically underrepresented communities. I became involved with CIES as a High School Scholar and then the Dragons Prep program the summer before my first year.

Major: Sociology & Global Public Health
Minor: Spanish
Hometown: Rock Springs, Wyoming

Why I Work at Ascent
I joined the Ascent leadership Team because I have found a home in the CIES community and want to help it continue to be a welcoming place for traditionally underrepresented students on our campus. I am also really passionate about DEI work on Drexel's campus in general, particularly for first-generation students, and this is a great opportunity to stay involved!.

More About Me
I am the vice president for Dragons First, Drexel's first-generation student club, and an ambassador for the university, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Undergraduate Research and Enrichment Office. I also am really passionate about research and have gotten to help with a variety of projects surrounding sexual health and LGBTQIA+ health. Outside of that, I am a huge soccer fan and lover of matcha and crochet.
