"There’s so much that we could learn and utilize from other nations, so I think my GES background could allow me to be frontrunner when it comes to researching global health policies and bringing back ideas to implement into our own system. In other words, this program will take me to the next level - anyone can work for the government, but someone with global experience can definitely bring something different and innovative to the table."
Degree: Master's in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics in Drexel's Accelerated 5-year BS/MS Program
"I chose to get involved in GES because it gave me a framework to organize and reflect upon my international experiences. Living abroad is a very transformative experience, and I was having a very difficult time explaining to my peers at home how much I gained and changed because of these travels. Getting involved in GES allowed me to organize, share, and discuss my experiences with my peers."
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering with a minor in International Economics
"On a personal level, the program helped me look back on my experiences in Japan - both positive and negative - with regards to the people I've met and how I've reacted to certain situations. I learned things I have never noticed about myself by going abroad and seeing other frames of mind, and the Global Engagement Scholars program helped me pick those apart and pull out the lessons learned."
