Resources for Reporting Concerns, Policy Violations, & Informal Dispute Resolution
Drexel University believes that faculty should be made aware of how to address perceived violations of rules, policies, civility or established practice should that become necessary. Faculty Advancement is happy to assist faculty members in sorting through issues as they arise. Contact information for our office can be found here. At times Faculty Advancement can provide the information or assistance required and we encourage you to contact us for assistance. We are also happy to direct faculty to the appropriate resource(s) if we are not able to resolve an issue or concern.
Faculty are also welcome to access other university resources on their own as needed. Please find below resources for engaging with other offices at Drexel that can address these issues outside of the Office of Faculty Advancement.
Drexel Human Resources Employee Relations
The Employee Relations section of Human Resources acts as a resource on a full spectrum of HR matters, such as talent acquisition, management practices and development, performance management, organizational development, compensation, employee relations, policies and procedures and coaching and counseling. We are dedicated to the enhancement of a quality working environment for employees by encouraging positive communication between employees and managers.
Drexel University is committed to the highest standards of ethics and integrity in pursuit of its mission of quality education, research, and community service. We extend that commitment to conducting our affairs in full compliance with the law, the University’s Code of Conduct (CPS-1) and other policies and guidelines to ensure we uphold our values. To report or address any allegations of suspected improper conduct, refer to Drexel’s Compliance Hotline page.
via the Office of Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture (EIC) and EIC Related Policies
Drexel University is committed to fostering a safe and welcoming campus community for all; in turn, it is the responsibility of each person within the Dragon community to join in creating an environment in which others can thrive without fear of harassment, discrimination, or sexual misconduct. As listed in their policies, anyone who has been the target of, witness to, or has knowledge of an incident of harassment, discrimination, or sexual misconduct may use this online form to make a report to the University.
The Ombuds impartially seeks to assist any member of the University community who is involved in a dispute and believes an informal dispute resolution process might be helpful - that are not subject to other dispute resolution processes. The Ombuds is not the advocate or representative of any group or person but impartially seeks to assist any member of the University community.
With the help of the entire Drexel community, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) works diligently to foster and maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and neighbors in the surrounding community.
via the Office of Student Life
Student Conduct & Care serves as the reporting center for all reports of Student and Student Organization misconduct, as well as non-urgent reports about students in need of support. Any member of the Drexel University community or person with knowledge of an incident of misconduct or a student of concern can make a report.
Please note that the Provost Office policy Faculty Grievance and Mediation was decommissioned in Fall 2024 as it has not been used in seven years and is redundant to other policies and processes. There are several other avenues for faculty to grieve relevant matters as mentioned above including University Ombuds, the processes through the offices of Human Resources and Equity and Inclusive Culture.
