Please join us for a reception and lecture by Charles Morscheck, PhD "The House on Walnut and the Museum on Chestnut: Observations on the Early History of The Drexel Collection.".

Please join us Friday, January 27th from 4 to 6 PM in the Rincliffe Gallery, 3rd floor Main Building (3141 Chestnut St.) for the opening reception of the exhibition Plakat Polski: Selections from The Frank Fox Polish Poster Collection and the Kenneth F. Lewalski Polish Posters Collection. These two collections from the Westphal College of Media Arts & Design represent one of the most comprehensive surveys of Soviet-era Polish posters in an institution in the United States. Selected and curated by Mark Willie, Teaching Professor, Graphic Design, Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, the exhibition is on view through March 31st.

Not only were the Drexel’s important in the world of business and philanthropy in the 19th century, but they were also patrons of the arts, the subject of artists, and many were artists themselves. This Family Weekend, come tour the main display areas of the Drexel Collection — the Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery and the Rincliffe Gallery. Tours will depart from the Great Court of the Main Building at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m on Friday, November 11th and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th. Tours will depart in groups of 30.

A workshop on the history of portraiture and self-portraiture painting for students in English 101for their project Self-Representation in the Digital Age.

A tour of the clocks and timepieces in The Drexel Collection for members and guests of the National Watch and Clock Museum. The tour focuses on the David Rittenhouse clock, c. 1773, an American masterpiece.
