Abir Alikerar ’27, a public health major at the Dornsife School of Public Health, is serving as vice president of Drexel University’s Undergraduate Student Government Association (USGA) for the 2026–27 academic year.

Alikerar, a Philadelphia native, first became involved with USGA through its Civic Engagement Committee, drawn to its work with the West Philadelphia community. She also serves on the external affairs committee for Dornsife’s Undergraduate Student Government Organization.

Although she “had never imagined running for vice president,” Alikerar was motivated by the opportunity to advance initiatives focused on “building a sense of community and school spirit, increasing pedestrian safety on campus and so much more.”

Among her priorities are strengthening communication between students and University leadership, increasing school spirit and expanding resources for students who live off campus.
