CPHRC Publishes Article in Special Issue of the American Journal of Public Health
October 3, 2019 — The CPHRC has an article in a special issue of the American Journal of Public Health that is devoted to Community Preparedness for Public Health Emergencies.
Published in September 2019 to coincide with National Emergency Preparedness Month, the volume features original work in research, public health practice, policy, and program evaluation in the field of public health preparedness.
The article, “A Quantitative Public Health Risk Assessment Tool for Planning for At-Risk Populations,” describes a tool the Center developed for conducting public health risk assessments in 2012 that has been used in Pennsylvania and the surrounding mid-Atlantic states, and adapted by state health departments in other parts of the country for their own risk-based planning.
