Experts Spent Months on a Fair COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Plan, Only to Witness ‘a Chaotic Free-for-All’

Ana V. Diez Roux, MD, PHD, dean at the Dornsife School of Public Health, and Sarah Long, MD, a professor in the College of Medicine, were featured in a Feb. 6 Philadelphia Inquirer article about failures in the vaccine response to the pandemic.
Diez Roux said it is just and equitable to make extra efforts to protect underserved groups who have been most harmed by the virus. Plus, she said, if large pockets of unvaccinated people remain, the pandemic will continue.
