Study: Air Pollution Linked to More Strokes in People With Afib

Jane Clougherty, ScD, an associate professor of environmental and occupational health, was quoted in a Sept. 24 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette story about her research that found individuals who suffer from atrial fibrillation, and also live in areas of Allegheny County where air pollution is the worst, had a 20% higher stroke risk than those living where the air was cleanest.
