Welcome to the Dornsife School of Public Health's Office of Global Health
The Office of Global Health seeks to support Drexel University students and faculty to train the next generation of global health scholars and practitioners and advance our understanding of how to address pressing global health issues.
Global health programs at the Dornsife School of Public Health are grounded in the school’s tenets of health, human rights, capacity building, social justice and community collaboration. Global health initiatives at the School include a broad range of global research and global training opportunities across all of the school’s departments.
Working in global health requires interdisciplinary, critical thinking and appreciation for, and sensitivity to, diverse cultures, values and settings. Our global health courses emphasize active, integrated, case-based and project-based teaching to prepare graduates to partner with international communities to solve the most pressing public health problems facing our world.
You can see how active our faculty, students and alumni are in the international community. Many perform research, teach and travel abroad, while others work on global health issues, such as HIV, asbestos and hunger, here in the United States. Their work impacts communities from our backyard in Philadelphia to the remote villages around the world.
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Sincerely,
Joe Amon
Director, Global Health
