CCO Strategic Goals
The work of the Culture, Community & Opportunity (CCO) Office is one of the six priority areas in the Dornsife School of Public Health (DSPH) Strategic Plan 2025–2029.
Culture, Community & Opportunity as a Strategic Priority
The Dornsife Strategic Plan is organized around six priority areas. Culture, Community, and Opportunity being one of Drexel Dornsife's six priority areas places equity and community at the center of the school’s direction, rather than at its margins.

Strategic Goals for Culture, Community & Opportunity at Drexel Dornsife
The three strategic goals for community, culture, and opportunity connect the CCO Office's day-to-day work directly to the school’s institutional commitments.
Goal 1: “Amplify the voices of all Dornsife members via data collection to identify strengths, address challenges, and provide recommendations that enhance culture and community”
Goal 1 in Practice Means:
We work toward a school culture where data drives decisions and every perspective is heard.
Through our annual DSPH Climate Survey, we collect community-wide input from students, staff, and faculty, then share findings with school leadership to inform programming, policy, and strategic direction.
Goal 2: “Strengthen Dornsife culture and well-being by expanding access to resources through strategic partnerships and training for students, staff, and faculty”
Goal 2 in Practice Means:
Doing our best work requires access to the right support.
We connect students, staff, and faculty with resources, training, and partnerships that strengthen wellbeing and build capacity, working alongside DSPH departments, Drexel’s equity offices, and community partners across Philadelphia.
Goal 3: “Foster a culture of shared decision making and strengthen community through shared leadership of students, staff, and faculty”
Goal 3 in Practice Means:
Lasting change in institutional culture cannot be directed from the top.
Our Shared Leadership Team, more than 55 members from every DSPH unit, center, and department, is the structural embodiment of this goal. The SLT meets quarterly and in working groups throughout the year.

Progress and Accountability
Leaders in each of the six strategic priority areas share progress on objectives and metrics at the Dornsife State of the School each fall. The Strategic Plan is meant to be flexible and iterative, allowing the school to respond to changing needs.
Thank you to everyone across the Dornsife School community who shared input on the strategic planning process through surveys, meetings, and conversations.
