Monday, September 14th

  • Lindy Center for Civic Engagement Open House
    Monday, September 14th, 11:00am – 3:00pm: Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, 3210 Cherry Street
    The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement is kicking off Welcome Week with an open house and we can’t wait to meet you! This event is a perfect opportunity for new students to explore Drexel's civic engagement programs and resources more deeply, interact with their community, and receive information about involvement curricular, co-curricular, and student employment opportunities ahead of starting classes. Stop by for snacks and refreshments, music, giveaways and fun! 

Tuesday, September 15th

  • Writers Room Open House, and zine making with Spell Magazine
    Tuesday, September 15th, 10:00am – 1:00pm: Ross Commons, 229 N. 34ths Street, 3rd floor 
    Meet Writers Room! We’re Drexel’s community-based literary arts organization, where students, staff, faculty, and neighbors come together to write, reflect, and build relationships. Stop by to meet our community, learn how you can get involved with our work, and make a zine with Spell Magazine, a student-led arts publication!  
  • Writers Room Third Tuesday: Welcome (Back)
    Tuesday, September 15th, 4:30pm – 6:00pm: Dornsife Center Lindy House, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
    Writers Room's annual back-to-school night! Join us as we kick off the 2026-27 season with our first monthly writing workshop of the year. Greet old friends, meet new ones, and help us sketch out what’s ahead for Year 13 at Writers Room. Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following. 
  • Dornsife Center Tours
    Tuesday, September 15th, 4:30pm – 6:00pm: Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
    Learn more about Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood partnership by joining a guided tour of our off-campus community hub and learn more about on-campus resources and support. Tours will begin at 4:30pm, 5:00pm, and 5:30pm. Community Cookout will begin at 6:00pm. 
  • Community Cook-out at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships
    Tuesday, September 15th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
    Always a Welcome Week highlight! Come hang out with fellow students and our West Philly neighbors at the Dornsife Center’s Community Cookout. Grab student resources, score giveaways, and join in games, music, and conversation. Bring your friends and meet new people. 

Wednesday, September 16th

  • Neighborhood Walking Tour and Discussion
    Wednesday, September 16th, 9:00am – 11:00am: Beginning at Writers Room - Ross Commons, 229 N. 34ths Street, 3rd floor 
    Explore your new neighborhood—on foot! Meet at the Writers Room for a light breakfast before we depart at 9:15am for a guided walking tour of the streets around Drexel. You’ll discover local history and hear about the community that shapes campus life. The tour finishes at the Black Bottom archaeological dig site where artifacts revealed a powerful chapter of the area that became our campus.

Come meet members of our civically engaged student organizations and learn how you can contribute to meaningful change on campus and in the community. Stop by to connect with fellow students, explore volunteer and leadership opportunities, and discover how your voice can make a difference. Whether you're passionate about service, advocacy, or community building, there's a place for you here! 
  • Open Mic Night at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships
    Thursday, September 17th 6:00pm – 8:00pm: Dornsife Center, 3509 Spring Garden Street 
    Get ready to own the stage! Join fellow Dragons for an electrifying Open Mic Night at the Dornsife Center — a Welcome Week must-do. Whether you rap, sing, tell jokes, read poetry, or just want to cheer on friends, this is your moment to shine. Food, vibes, and amazing performances powered by the Dornsife Center, Drexel Flux, and the Late Night Series (LNS). Bring your crew, bring your talent and make your first week unforgettable.
