Monday, September 15th

• Lindy Center for Civic Engagement Open House

  The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement is kicking off Welcome Week with an open house and we can’t wait to meet you! This event is a perfect opportunity for new students to explore Drexel's civic engagement programs and resources more deeply, interact with their community, and receive information about involvement curricular, co-curricular, and student employment opportunities ahead of starting classes. Stop by for snacks and refreshments, music, giveaways and fun!

• Writers Room Open House, and zine making with Spell Magazine

Tuesday, September 16th

• Writers Room Third Tuesday: Welcome (Back)
  Tuesday, September 16th, 4:30pm – 6:00pm: Dornsife Center Lindy House, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
  Our annual back-to-school night! Join us as we kick off the 2025-26 season with our first monthly writing workshop of the year. Greet old friends, meet new ones, and help us sketch out what’s ahead for Year 12 at Writers Room. Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following.  
• Dornsife Center Tours and Campus Resources
  Tuesday, September 16th, 4:30pm – 6:00pm: Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
  Learn more about Drexel’s Dornsife Center for Neighborhood partnership by joining a guided tour of our off-campus community hub and learn more about on-campus resources and support. Tours will begin at 4:30pm, 5:00pm, and 5:30pm. Dinner will begin at 6:00pm.  
• Community Cook-out at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships
  Tuesday, September 16th, 6:00pm – 7:30pm: Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden St. 
  Join us, and our West Philly neighbors, for a fun and free community cookout at the Dornsife Center with student resources and free giveaways! 
  

Wednesday, September 17th

• Neighborhood Walking Tour and Discussion
  Wednesday, September 17th, 9:00am – 11:30am: Beginning at the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, 3210 Cherry Street 
  Join us for a walking tour of the neighborhoods surrounding Drexel’s Campus. The tour will start at the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement at 9:00am, participants will enjoy a light breakfast before we depart on our tour at 9:15 am. During the tour, we will get familiarized with some of the neighborhoods surrounding campus and hear about the rich history of our community. The tour will end at the Black Bottom archaeological dig site which unearthed a rich part of what we now call campus.

  Join us for a walking tour of the neighborhoods surrounding Drexel’s Campus. The tour will start at the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement at 11:00am, participants will enjoy light snacks before we depart on our tour at 11:15 am. The tour will begin with a visit to the Black Bottom archaeological dig site which unearthed a rich part of what we now call campus and continue through the neighborhoods surrounding campus and hear about the rich history of our community. The tour will end at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships. 
• Make an Impact with Technology
  Wednesday, September 17th, 4:00 – 5:00 PM: ExCITe Center, 3401 Market St. Suite 100
  Are you interested in technology and how it can strengthen your community? Join us for a special event to explore how Drexel’s Digital Navigator Program, in partnership with TechServ, is helping to close the Digital Divide in West Philadelphia. Come learn about opportunities to get involved, build valuable skills, and make a real difference right here in Philadelphia. 🍕 Pizza will be provided!
