Featured Drexel Singing Groups

The Drexel Cleftomaniacs are an all-gender a cappella group established in 2012, with a mission to produce quality a cappella music while fostering a diverse and tight-knit family. The “Cleftos” work their hardest to provide exhilarating performances for their audiences that showcase a diverse selection of musical genres.

The Cleftomaniacs have performed at other colleges and universities, the Philadelphia Flower Show, First Friday in Old City, and all around greater Philadelphia. They are regular participants in the International Championship of College A Cappella (ICCA) competition, and most recently were awarded second place in the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals!

Founded in January of 2001, the TrebleMakers are Drexel’s only all-treble a cappella group. They host concerts with guest groups each academic term and perform frequently on and off campus, even out of state. “The Trebs” also compete in competitions, such as the ICCAs, and perform at various fundraiser events.

All music is arranged and taught by group members. TrebleMakers is an organization made to promote the gathering and cooperation of girls with a shared passion for music and performance.

Founded in 1997, 8 to the Bar is our university's premiere all-male-identifying and non-binary a cappella group! They organize concerts and perform at other universities throughout the city, state, and east coast. “8 Bar” also supports charities and benefit foundations by performing in support of their causes.

Their mission is to broaden the musical horizons of the Drexel community and beyond by performing unique interpretations of various songs infused with their infectious brand of humor and stage presence. Check out their newly released single “Tear in My Heart” on Spotify and Apple Music!

Dhvani is Drexel’s only co-ed South Asian a cappella group, dedicated to celebrating and sharing South Asian culture through music. They create and perform original arrangements that blend traditional South Asian melodies with modern pop. Their fusion style reflects both cultural richness and musical innovation.

By performing and competing on national stages, Dhvani aims to showcase the diversity of their music and connect with audiences of all backgrounds. Through every performance, they strive to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and love for this unique musical genre.
