My experience as a graduate student:
I am a PhD Candidate in my third year. I arrived at Drexel in the Fall of 2017 to pursue a PhD in mathematics. Having already acquired a master's degree in Mathematics and having taught high school math for three years, I felt that I knew what to expect in regards to my journey that I was about to embark on. What I didn't expect is the amount of growth that I would experience in regard to not only my mathematical skill, reasoning and fluency, but also in my teaching ability that I thought was already very seasoned when I arrived!
I attribute much of my development and continued learning to my dedicated colleagues, caring and knowledgeable instructors, and of course my research advisor who has guided me (so far!) in my quest for my PhD. I feel confident that my experience at Drexel will have prepared me for any path that I choose to pursue in the future!
Overall and outside of Mathematics:
I knew that I wanted to have a career in mathematics by my senior year in high school. I had always thrived in my math classes, and I had always enjoyed helping others better understand it in school. I attended La Salle University from 2010-2014 where I received a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education. Upon graduating, I taught at two different high schools over three years, and I also completed a Master's degree in Mathematics at Rowan University.
In addition to studying mathematics, I enjoy doing many things! In most of my time outside of school, I enjoy playing sports, mostly basketball and football, working out, learning about all things dealing in nutrition and fitness, spending time with my family and friends, especially my wife Brielle and my dog Pennie, and cheering on my Philadelphia sports teams.
