Although other identities will be discussed (i.e., gender), due to the sociopolitical climate, increased attention to racial dynamics and racial trauma, and an increase in visible diversity in counseling programs as well as clients seeking services, it is important to develop competence in this area. Common mistakes in addressing race in supervision will be discussed as well as effective strategies to navigate cross-cultural dynamics.
