A Message from the Dean on Diversity and Inclusion

The recent horrific events of police brutality have demonstrated once again the systemic racism, discrimination, and hostility faced by the Black community in our country. In addition to the pervasive violence, these same communities have had to bear the brunt of the adverse health and economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now is the time for all of us in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems to join in addressing these and all injustices and inequities in our society. As a school devoted to providing life-saving solutions for society and as we develop a new strategic plan for moving forward, we must stand in support of our Black students, faculty, professional staff, and community and insure that our work is dedicated to securing the dignity, opportunity, safety, well-being, and health of all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, or socioeconomic status.
