Politecnico di Milano

Laboratories

  • Laboratory of Life Support Systems
  • Laboratory of Biomaterials
  • Laboratory of Domotics
  • Laboratory of Fluorescence Imaging and Fast Imaging
  • Laboratory of Medical Informatics
  • Laboratory of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of the Italian National Research Council

We currently have arrangements for cooperation in research. Both sides will make sure that their graduate students will complete all of the doctoral requirements on both sides regarding qualifier exams, courses, thesis research, thesis proposal submission, thesis defense, etc. Both institutions agree to overlap many of those requirements, except for examinations. Joint thesis committees will be established and meetings will be through teleconference or at major professional meetings when both sides are able to attend.

A joint group will generate joint research publications and joint proposals, where the students become a 'human bridge.' Previous doctoral students from Italy involved in this framework include Dr. Guglielmo Foffani, currently head of the Neurosignals – Bioengineering Neurophysiology group at the Fundacion Hospital National de Paraplegicos in Toledo, Spain, and Dr. Anna Merzagora, Research Assistant Professor in Drexel's School of Biomedical Engineering, Science & Health Systems.
