In the Field: Biodiversity, Earth Science and Environmental Science

August 15, 2019 - November 8, 2019

Rincliffe Gallery, Drexel Main Building, 3rd Floor

The exhibition, In the Field, examines the use of University resources and materials within the College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science (BEES). It focuses on student and faculty interactions with one of the University's most notable research centers and collections: the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

The motto of BEES - "Field Experience, Early and Often" - aligns with Drexel's experiential learning and curriculum and the mission behind University collections. Within the department, those collections consist of more than 18 million specimens at the Academy, used by faculty and students to identify field specimens and illustrate concepts in the classroom.

This exhibition was curated in partnership between The Drexel Collection, the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science and the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.
