Connect to the Zoo server on your PC or Mac
Robert McNeel & Associates offers a free, fully functional trial of Rhino for 90 days at rhino3d.com/download. If your free trial has expired, follow the instructions below to connect to our Zoo license server.
Before you begin, make sure your PC or Mac meets the system requirements.
If this is the first time you're installing Rhino, then go to the section connect to the Zoo server when installing Rhino.
However, if you've already installed Rhino, then go to the section connect to the Zoo server if Rhino is already installed.
Note: If you're working from off campus, you'll need to connect to Drexel's Virtual Private Network (VPN) before you can connect to the Zoo server from your PC or Mac.
Connect to the Zoo server when installing Rhino
Select the instructions for your computer's operating system from the tabs below.
Connect on PC
- Download Rhino and run the downloaded installer.
- Follow any prompts you may get to complete your installation.
- Once the installation is complete, close the installation dialog box and launch Rhino.
- In the licensing dialog box, select Use the Zoo.
- Select Use the Zoo server with the following hostname or IP address, and enter our Zoo server hostname.
- Click Continue to connect to our Zoo sever.
Connect on Mac
- Download Rhino and run the downloaded installer.
- Drag the app icon to the Applications folder.
- Open the Rhinoceros app.
- In the licensing dialog box, select Use the Zoo.
- Select Use the Zoo server with the following hostname or IP address, and enter our Zoo server hostname.
- Click Continue to connect to our Zoo sever.
Connect to the Zoo server if Rhino is already installed
Select the instructions for your computer's operating system from the tabs below.
Connect on PC
- Open the Rhino app.
- Select Tools > Options > Licenses > Change your license key.
- In the licensing dialog box, select Use the Zoo.
- Select Use the Zoo server with the following hostname or IP address, and enter our Zoo server hostname.
- Click Continue, and then click OK to connect to our Zoo sever.
Connect on Mac
- Open the Rhinoceros app.
- Select Rhinoceros > Preferences > Licenses > Change your license key.
- In the licensing dialog box, select Use the Zoo.
- Select Use the Zoo server with the following hostname or IP address, and enter our Zoo server hostname.
- Click Continue, and then click OK to connect to our Zoo sever.
